Room with a view

Here are the boyz enjoying the view from
the elevator in our hotel in PR. This ride took
us down to a funicular, which took us to a high-
speed catamaran, which took us to the offshore
sandy island of Palomino.

Here is a pic that I took atop of El Yunque,
the second highest peak (3,469 feet) in the
Caribbean National Forest (PR), the only tropical
rainforest in the United States. I had a lovely
early morning 10 kilometer solo hike in this
precious uninhabited piece of this densely
populated isle.

Here is the Wagner-Bailey clan,
en route to San Juan's fantastic fort.
We joined the locals and flew some
kites on the windswept plain leading
to the drawbridge.

Jenny resting her pregnant self in a
pedestrian side street in old San Juan.
She was happy to trade the foul weather
the North East was experiencing for the
high 80s of Puerto Rico all week (though
this day in San Juan even made her sweat).

In old San Juan, Puerto Rico, the boys ran amuk
for hours, in the dank, dark corners of this 18th century
fortress. This fort was an engineering marvel of its
day, only yielding to the Americans in 1898, during the
Spanish-American War.

Liam taking flight

Whilst feeding Las Palamos (okay, they're pigeons), Liam sprouted wings in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. We spent Liam's "Spring Break" week in PR, getting bronzed, splashing in waves, catching hermit crabs (and getting pinched by them), catching lizards (and getting bitten by them), and hiking in the rainforest.

Crescent Beach State Park - Cape Elizabeth

Our new mammal

11 days ago, we welcomed this 8 week old kitten to our fold...Liam says it is our first "big mammal" (as he had a white mouse in Mexico for a week before it met an untimely demise). They have taken to calling the kitty "Sweetie". Daddy is the sole keeper of litter box duties.

Welcome to Maine

Here is Liam enjoying the balmy weather in the coastal Maine town of Cape Elizabeth...where we have set up shop (for the time being), while looking for a house and jobs (no hurry). Liam and Marcus love this spot -- Two Lights State Park -- with its rugged rock formations which are constantly bashed by big white frothy waves. Just down the rocks to the Lobster Shack for yummy fried seafood.
